If you live in Longview, Texas, we don’t have to tell you how much Texans love their fairs and festivals. There are hundreds of events held each year, ensuring that there is something for everyone! Here are a few Fairs & Festivals coming up in East Texas to help you get in the Spring Spirit!
Nacogdoches Azalea Trail
There will be a tour of The Lone Star state’s largest Azalea garden in Texas. Residents of Longview and all of East Texas should be sure to make a stop at the Nacogdoches Azalea Trail where this exhibit features over seven thousand Azaleas. The Ruby M. Mize Garden at Stephen F. Austin State University is one not to be missed. This event will take place between March 15th and April 15th, giving you an entire month to take the time to smell the flowers!
Tyler Azalea and Spring Flower Trail
Speaking of Azaleas, Longview residents may enjoy the Azalea and Spring Flower Trail. It will be held between March 24th and April 9th this year in Tyler, Texas. This attraction travels through ten miles of residential gardens and historic home sites. In addition to the gardens, it should be a very nice ride for all involved.
ATV Mud Nationals
Maybe the only thing you like about flower shows is the dirt, if that is the case, you should check out the ATV Mud Nationals being held in Jacksonville, Texas on March 22nd – March 26th! This is the Mud Nationals, so plan on getting a little dirty while you are there!
Annual Dogwood Trails Celebration
Others in Longview might be interested in The 79th Annual Dogwood Trails Celebration. It will be held in Palestine, Texas. This long-running celebration occurs over three weekends:
- March 24th-26th
- March 31st- April 2nd
- April 7th-9th
There are many events and activities planned for each weekend, but the absolute “don’t miss” events are the Piney Woods Excursion and Dogwood Brunch Train at the Texas State Railroad, the Dulcimer Festival, and the Main Street Farm & Flower Market!
Piney Woods Quilt Festival
Looking for some indoor fun in East Texas this Spring? The Piney Woods Quilt Festival is coming to the Carthage Civic Center in Carthage from April 21st 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on April 22nd from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There is a one hundred dollar prize awarded for the best quilt. This event is jointly organized by Carthage Main Street, The Panola Squires Quilt Club, and The Busy Quilters Guild of Panola County.
